Exwick Maps
Here are links to Ordnance Survey maps of Exwick at 1:25000 scale and another at 1:50000 scale showing where Exwick is in relation to Exeter. These two maps are from the Ordnance Survey's Get-a-map service.
You can compare what Exwick is like now with the first edition Ordnance Survey map from the end of the 19th Century. Exwick was still a small village then, centred on the mills and surrounded by orchards. It would be another 50 years before Exwick would start to grow into the large suburb of Exeter which it is now. This map is courtesy of Landmark Information Group's www.old-maps.co.uk.
This is a link to an aerial photograph of Exwick, produced with the assistance of Google Maps. You can zoom in and out and see the surrounding area in great detail. The 'Google Maps' website is very useful for seeing aerial photographs as well as a basic streetmap of an area. If you'd prefer to view the Google Maps page rather than mine, this link will take you to the Google Maps page, centred on Exwick.
This is a link to the Microsoft Virtual Earth website (now called 'Bing maps'), centred on The Square in Exwick Hill. This is a 'Bird's Eye' view, looking north. You can pan around, zoom in or out and rotate the view to see the area from other angles, use a more normal vertical aerial view or just see a street map.
You should note that all of the map images and aerial photographs on these pages are copyright, either by the Ordnance Survey, Landmark Information Group, Google or Microsoft and should not be reproduced without their permission.
